We learn of a new search portal with ‘clustering’ of results from various sources (some quite inventive) via Rexblog.com from Rex Hammock:
rexblog.com: Rex Hammock’s Weblog
Search for the rest of us clowns: Clusty, which has nothing to do with a character on the Simpsons, is a new consumer search offering from Vivismo, the NYT’s John Markoff reports (“New company starts up a challenge to Google”):The new Clusty service for consumers, which will be free and supported by advertising revenue, uses a similar organizational structure. But it also presents a series of tabs enabling the user to see results from sources besides the general Web, including shopping information, yellow pages, news, blogs, and images.
Also see, ResearchBuzz.com which is Tara Calishain’s site for ‘search research’. It seems to be part blog, part CMS portal. Ah, ha! Just looked inside the source and her blog/CMS is MovableType. Cool.
